Preparations underway for Newtown's festive lights switch on

Preparations are well underway for Saturday's official switch on of Newtown's Christmas lights as part of Kicking Off Christmas.

The fun begins at 4.30pm in the town centre with an illuminated bike parade taking place through the town before events culimate in the town centre and the lights are officially switched on at 6pm.

Newtown Town Council, which is organising the event, is also holding a Christmas window competition.

A wide range of entertainment will be taking place, incuding stalls, music, food and drinlk and more.
