Healthy eating on a budget course coming to Newtown

05/11/2023 @ 01:25
A course offering advice on how to "eat smart and save better" will be held in Newtown later this month.

The "Eat Smart Save Better" campaign has been launched by Powys County Council's Health Protection Team, Powys Teaching Health Board, Bwyd Powys Food, and Powys Library Service.

Ryan Davies, Team Leader with the Health Protection Team, said: "With the current financial climate affecting us all, Powys County Council Health Protection Team, Powys Teaching Health Board, Bwyd Powys Food, and Powys Libraries are working together to offer an exciting opportunity for Powys residents/families to join us and learn about healthy eating on a budget.

Groups will be small, capped at 10 attendees to ensure everyone can work together and everyone will receive a free recipe book of quick, healthy meal ideas. For this new pilot, the attendees of our first 10 groups will also receive a goody bag containing ingredients to make these recipes, worth £14.78."

He added: "Sessions are one hour long and will be available in 10 locations across the county, but booking is essential as spaces are limited. All 10 locations are on eventbrite and you can book through scanning the QR code (attached to the poster) or go to this link: Eat Smart Save Better Powys | Eventbrite."

The Newtown event will be held on 30 November at 2pm.
