A Newtown curry house has won a top UK award for its food.

The Red Mango has won the National Curry Awards and Montgomeryshire MP, Craig Williams, has congratulated the team after being presented with the award at the House of Commons.
The Red Mango Indian Restaurant was named Newcomer of the Year at the Awards, having first opened their doors two years ago.
The National Curry Awards is an annual event which celebrates and highlights the success of the UK’s curry industry.
Craig Williams welcomed Aktarazzaman & Alom from the Red Mango to Parliament for the awards, as well as presenting them with their trophy and certificate.
Speaking after the awards, Mr Williams said: “Many congratulations to Aktarazzaman, Alom and all of the team at the Red Mango for winning this incredibly prestigious award. The National Curry Awards celebrate the very finest curry houses and chefs within the UK, and this is therefore a fantastic achievement that amply demonstrates the hard work and dedication they have put in since first opening their doors two years ago.
“We are incredibly fortunate to have a tremendous array of restaurants across the breadth of Montgomeryshire, with Indian restaurants forming a key part of Mid Wales’ hospitality sector.
“I look forward to again visiting Aktarazzaman, Alom and the whole team at Red Mango soon, not only to enjoy their fantastic food but also to see their award proudly on display!”
Aktarazzaman and Alom from the Red Mango said: “We would like to say thank you to all our customers who supported us throughout the years and in supporting us for our Newcomer of the Year award to be the best in Mid Wales. Thanks to all our staff who made it happen.”
