Designer could help improve some town centre areas

Some of Newtown's town council managed recreation areas could be in for improvement with the help of a designer.

Town councillors have been told the council is likely to appoint a designer to help improve areas including the Robert Owen Gardens between Shortbridge Street and Gas Street as well as the St Mary's Church area.

"We're looking for someone with more experience than us on design work," said a town council officer at this week's Services Committee meeting.
