Six taken to hospital following school bus incident

Five children and a bus driver have been taken to hospital following a serious incident in Llanfair Caereinion this afternoon.

Dyfed-Powys Police have confirmed that there were no passengers on the bus which appears to have struck the children after school.

Air charts show that as many as four Air Ambulances may have been on the scene.

The statement issued just now reads: “Dyfed-Powys Police is at the scene of a road traffic collision which occurred at about 3.25pm on School Lane, just off Neuadd Lane, Llanfair Caereinion.

“A school bus and a number of young pedestrians were involved in the collision.

“The male driver of the bus and five children have been taken to hospital. There were no passengers on the bus.

“The road is closed with diversions in place. Please avoid the area if possible.”
