Police launch witness appeal after man seriously injured

Dyfed-Powys Police is appealing for witnesses to a road accident in Newtown this morning which saw a pedestrian airlifted to hospital.

They have asked anyone who saw the incident in New Road at around 8.40am today (Thursday) to come forward.

A pedestrian received serious injuries and was airlifted to Royal Stoke University Hospital after it is believed he was in collision with a vehicle and trailer

Anyone who witnessed the incident or anyone with information that could help officers with their investigation is asked to report it to Dyfed-Powys Police, either online, by emailing 101@dyfed-powys.police.uk, or by calling 101.

An air ambulance helicopter was sent to Newtown from Welshpool just before 9am this morning.

“Following treatment at the scene from our on board medics, we airlifted the patient to the Royal Stoke University Hospital,” said a Wales Air Ambulance spokeswoman.

The air ambulance left Newtown at 9.51am and arrived at the hospital at 10.17am. The Wales Air Ambulance said the Welshpool-based crew's involvement ended at 11.01am.
