Polls open in local elections

Voting has begun in the local county, community and town council elections, although not all wards are being contested.

Polling stations in Newtown opened at 7am to allow residents to vote. The polling stations will remain open until 10pm.

Electors are being urged to use their vote where they have canddiates contesting seats.
