Newtown police say they have identified a man they wanted to question in relation to an alleged sexual assault in the town centre.
Police had appealed for help identifying a man after a 47-year-old woman claimed she was slapped on the bottom outside the Lion public house in Shortbridge Street on 12 February.
Yesterday they said: "Officers have carried out all possible lines of enquiry and are now appealing for help from the public. They would like to identify the person in the CCTV image, who may have information that could help the investigation."
Later they said a man had been identified.
