A 250th anniversary art installation marking the birth of Newtown born social reformer Robert Owen, is likely to accepted by the town council.
The work of art is due to be completed this year as part of the 250th anniversary celebrations that took part last year.
An augmented reality trail around the town is also likely to be transferred to the council once completed.
Robert Owen was born in Newtown in 1771 and died here. He was a social reformer who helped established the co-operative movement which led to major changes in work conditions and labour.
MyNewtown reported last month how the art and trail were being completed as part of a project undertaken by a group supported by the Welsh Government, Robert Owen Museum, Powys County Council, Oriel Davies Gallery, and Race Council Cymru.
"As the external anniversary project reaches conclusion, the project co-ordinator has written to the town council to offer the competed artwork and virtual reality trail to the town council by way of legacy to the community," states a report to the full Newtown Town Council which meets on Monday.
"The offer was reported to Economy& Environment Committee in Dec 21 which RESOLVED‘The committee recommends to Full Council that Newtown & Llanllwchaiarn Town Council accepts the gift of the 250 Public Art Commission and VR Trail from the Robert Owen 250 Steering Group (consisting of Welsh Government, Powys CC, The Robert Owen Museum, Arts Council of Wales, Oriel Davies, Race Council Cymru & NLTC) as a gift of property with a contribution of £1,000 to support any legal and ongoing costs incurred."
It has been recommended to accept the gift.
