Local bikers urged to have skills assessed

Motorcyclists living in Powys are being urged to have their skills assessed so that they can ride safer in the county.

Powys County Council’s Road Safety Unit is inviting motorcyclists living in the county to take part in a free ‘Ride On’ course.

The course will give bikers an introduction to advanced motorcycling and is geared up towards brushing up skills and improving their riding experience and enjoyment.  The course is completely free to Powys residents thanks to funding from the Welsh Government.

Cllr Geraint Hopkins, Cabinet Member for Environment and Regulation, said: “Motorcyclists are one of our most vulnerable road users in Powys and we want to promote safer riding and reduce the number of motorcyclists killed or seriously injured on Powys roads. This assessment, along with other initiatives, will help us achieve this.”

The courses are available on the following dates:

- Llandrindod Wells, Saturday, 3 September
- Brecon, Sunday, 25 September
- Llandrindod Wells, Saturday, 1 October

To book a place on the course or for further information on any aspect of road safety telephone the Road Safety Unit on 01597 826979 or email
