Clear up operation after Storm Arwen

The aftermath of Storm Arwen is still being cleared up in the area with disruption remaining on rail and road routes.

Transport for Wales has urged rail users to check before they leave for services from Newtown along the Cambrian Railway to Shrewsbury or Aberystwyth.

Some services are operating along the line, but officials said there was still an impact as a result of the cancelled services on Saturday.

Services are still affected after trees fell on the line on Friday night.

Meanwhile, some roads and lanes remain closed due to debris and fallen trees. Police and council officials have urged people to drive carefully.

Many residents reported damage to their property, with smashed windows and damaged rooves.
