Children asked for their views on local care services

12/11/2021 @ 09:37
Children who have been looked after in care in Newtown are being asked for their views to help improve the service.

Powys County Council is launching the survey throughout the county for any child who has ben in care.

The survey called ‘Your Life, Your Care’ is open from today until the 29th November 2021. Children looked after and care experienced young people are being contacted directly to take part and partners from across Powys are on hand to support this roll out.

Cabinet Member for Children’s Services, Cllr Rachel Powell says: “As part of our on-going commitment to improving outcomes for children looked after and care experienced young people, we are working with Coram Voice and the University of Oxford to undertake Bright Spots, a programme which aims to improve the well-being of children and young people in care by identifying and promoting practices that have a positive impact.

“Our children looked after aged 4-18 are being asked to take part in the survey which is the initial part of the Bright Spots programme. This is a great opportunity for us to hear their views and better understand how they perceive their care, well-being, the people they know, their rights and opportunities. This information will help to improve our support and services.”
