Crowdfunding campaign launched for play park

A community funding initiative has been launched in a bid to bring a new play park to Montgomery.
The Friends of Montgomery Play Park has launched a crowd funding appeal to raise the funds required towards bringing the new facility to the town.
The group hopes to raise £2,000 and has already managed to pull in £455.
“During the Coronavirus pandemic we have all gained a new appreciation for the outdoors and outdoor facilities, sadly the play park in Montgomery is extremely outdated and lacking in facilities meaning that many families are travelling elsewhere,” said a spokesperson.
“Friends of Montgomery Play Park want to change this and see a brand new play park built at the top of the recreation field close to the town centre.
“We have the designs, we are applying for funds and grants but we really need community support too, to help pay for all the equipment planned!
“This appeal is focussed on fundraising for a new cantilever basket swing which will provide hours of enjoyment to children and young people in Montgomery.”
