Man arrested and bailed over rape allegation

A man has been arrested and bailed in connection with an alleged rape in Newtown.

The 31-year-old man was arrested by Dyfed Powys Police.

They said an incident happened in an alley of Short Bridge Street in the early hours of Saturday.

“Dyfed Powys Police is investigating an incident which occurred during the early hours of Saturday morning, October 23, in an alley way off Short Bridge Street, Newtown,” said a police spokesperson.

“A 31-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of rape and released with bail conditions pending further police enquiries.
