Montgomery's Big Green Week kicks off

Montgomery Energy Group (MEG) is encouraging residents to do their bit during Great Big Green Week which is held from September 18-26.
The week highlights ways to create a cleaner, greener, healthier world and to find out more about climate change and take action to protect nature.
During Great Big Green Week, Green Lane Burial Field (Upper Bryntalch, SY15 6LA) will be hosting an open afternoon on Tuesday 21 (2–5pm).
MEG will be at the Thursday Charter Market on September 23 with a Green Info Stall. Visitors can chat to representatives about all things green, find out what you can do, and ask any questions which they’ll try to help with. Brett will be there to help “Get on your bike” with the free bike scheme, or bring your own bike along if it needs anything checking.
MEG will also be choosing a dry day to hold a community picnic at the community orchard.
Events to close the week on Sunday 26 will include a Town Tidy and Litter Pick (10am, meet at the Town Hall); an environmental/creation-themed service at St Nicholas’ Church (10.45am) with fair-trade coffee and chat afterwards; and a town Yard Sale and Garden Giveaway Day to rehome items locally (11am-3pm).
