Have you had your first covid-19 vaccination?

Anyone aged over 18 who hasn't had their first covid-19 vaccination dose is being urged to attend a series of walk-in surgeries this week.

From today (Tuesday) until Friday, anyone aged 18 or over can attend the Maldwyn Leisure Centre between 8.30am and 6.30pm for a vaccination.

It comes following a sharp rise in positive infections over the past three weeks in Newtown.

Anyone in Powys can attend the sessions.

Residents are also being urged to have covid-19 tests even if they don't have the symptoms of coronavirus.

"First dose appointments are available with Pfizer and AstraZeneca on a first-come first-served basis. Please keep checking our social media channels and website for updates," said a statement.

The days and times for walk-in vaccinations are:

Tuesday 20 July 8:30pm-6.30pm
Wednesday 21 July 8:30am-6.30pm
Thursday 22 July 8:30am-6:30pm
Friday 23 July 8:30am-6:30pm
