Newtown residents who cannot work from home are being urged to have regular Covid-19 tests.
Council and health chiefs are worried people could be going to workplaces with the virus where they are spreading it to others.
It follows a spike in cases in the area over the past two weeks.
Lateral flow tests can be collected from the Shortbridge Street car park between 8am and 1pm each day.
Two home testing kits can be collected at a time. These contain 14 tests.
"About one in three people with coronavirus do not have symptoms but can still infect others," said a Powys County Council statement.
"Getting tested regularly is the only way to know if you have the virus. If people test positive and self-isolate, it helps stop the virus spreading.
"Rapid lateral flow tests are for people who do not have coronavirus symptoms."
You can get lateral flow tests for you and your household if:
you are a volunteer
you cannot work from home
you are an unpaid carer
you are visiting Wales from elsewhere
you are travelling to other areas of the UK
