A splash park should be created for children in Newtown, according to a parent who has written to the town council.
A letter sent to the town council said a splash park would add to the growing play and other areas in the town, such as the adventure park, according to the unnamed parent in the letter.
It stated: "I went to Shrewsbury yesterday with my 3 year old and found a splash park. Is there any way we can get something like this in Newtown. The Strategy and Corporate Projects Committee will consider the letter at its meeting on Thursday.
In response to the letter, Sorelle White, Democratic Services Manager, said: "Local people put forward all sorts of similar suggestions for facilities for children when we recently gathered information for the town's "Place Plan", which will soon be adopted & sets out plans for the town for the next 15 years.
"I will forward your suggestion to the committee that will be looking at that particular topic."
