Nantoer Bridge road to re-open for the weekend

The road under Nantoer bridge will be re-opened from today for the Bank Holiday weekend.

But work will close the road again next week to resurface it and then a permanent single traffic lane will come into effect.

An online campaign has criticised the safety measures under the bridge. It involves widening a path to allow better access for pedestrians and cyclists between Llanidloes Road and the college and Mochdre Industrial Park.

Large queues formed both sides of the bridge last week due to the temporary traffic lights.

Powys County Council said the works will stop today and traffic will be allowed under it.

The works are due to end next Friday.
