Bypass partially re-opens

One lane was re-opened on the Newtown bypass last night following the fatal accident on Sunday.

The road had been closed following the accident at 6.30pm on Sunday. A lorry carrying sheep and another vehicle were involved in the accident. A 36-year-old man from Newtown died at the scene. The driver of the lorry was taken to hospital with injuries.

The road is expected to be partially closed again today for repair work to be undertaken.

Witnesses to the accident are being urged to call Dyfed Powys Police on 101.
