Non-essential retail stores and beauticians are some of the businesses reopening in Newtown today.
With Welsh Government restrictions easing, Newtown is expected to be busier than it has been since before Christmas as retailers urge people to 'shop local' and support traders.
The reopening comes as the border with England reopens and people are allowed to travel in and out of the area.
Local tourism operators are also hoping for more bookings as tourists seek shorts breaks in the local countryside.
However, health chiefs are urging people to be safe and maintain social distancing despite the ease in restrictions.
