The search is on for two young people to represent the youth of Newtown on the town council.
MyNewtown reported last month how the town council planned to re-start its "Youth Reps" scheme. Today it announced it was now recruiting and wanted applications for the roles.
"The youth reps will be the voice of young people, feeding in ideas, participating in council meetings and helping young people be more involved in local decision-making," said Cllr Richard Williams.
The Youth Reps will be able to add their experience to their CVs while gaining an understanding of local and national matters.
"The Town Council is eager to work with young people and it is vital that their views are heard when decisions are being made," added Cllr Williams.
"We are looking forward to working with our youth reps to help develop and grow youth engagement in the town."
Candidates need to be between 15 and 25 years of age. Those under 18 need to have parental consent.
