Six local mobile phone masts are to be upgraded to 4G as part of a joint partnership between the main operators.
EE has announced it will upgrade masts as part of the Shared Rural Network (SRN), an initiative between EE, O2, Vodafone and Three to create 4G coverage to 95 per cent of the UK by the middle of this decade.
The masts due to be upgraded locally are:
Pant Mawr, Llanidloes
Sarn
Montgomery
Churchstoke
Llandinam
Guilsfield
The scheme means users of the various mobile phone companies will gain access to 4G through the masts.
In the mast, each operator used their own masts which meant some gaps in coverage.
