A local care home will soon have its gardens spruced up for residents, thanks to a donation from a local building society.

Plas Cae Crwn has received £1,000 from the Mercian Trust Fund which is run by the West From Building Society.

The donation will be used to help renovate the homes existing courtyard, so that it’s more user friendly for the residents.

The design plans made by the home manager include a bar area which will be used as both a coffee and gelato bar.

This will be accompanied by an outdoor seating area, which residents will be able to share with their families once they are able to visit.

Tricia Jones, Manager at the West Brom’s Newtown Branch, said: “We are so pleased to be able to support the care home with the donation. We are hoping to be able to support further with volunteering once it’s safe to do so.

"Plas Cae Crown holds an importance place in our local community, and provides both a lovely and homely environment for all its residents. It’s a privilege to be able to help them.”

Helen Griffiths, Home Manager at the Plas Cae Crwn, said: “We are ever so grateful for the donation provided from our local branch. Our proposed landscape improvements will give our residents their very own Garden of Eden, and provide a much safer communal area where they will be able to spend time with their families and loved ones once the restrictions are eased.”
