Vaccine appointments brought forward to today

With severe weather forecasted, the county’s three vaccine centres could be closed over the weekend.

Appointments at Newtown's vaccination centre at the Maldwyn Leisure Centre, along with Builth Wells and Bronllys, will close tomorrow and appointment brought forward to today.

The message was sent out last night by Powys Teaching Health Board but, strangely, local media were not informed.

The request is that you try to keep to the same time as you had tomorrow, but if that has already gone, try to make it there as soon as possible today, and no later than 8pm.

“If you do not see this message in time to come on Friday at all, please check back for a weather update to see if our mass vaccination centres are open on Saturday,” said a Powys Teaching Health Board spokesperson.

“We will contact people to arrange a new appointment as soon as possible.”

The alert is only for people who already have a booked appointment at the mass vaccination centres on Saturday.
