People looking for work in Newtown are being offered the chance to become carers.
Newtown-based Abacare said it is looking to help people get back into work in the care sector.
Neil Griffiths, Regional Manager at Abacare, provides care to people in their own homes in the surrounding areas, said: “It’s been a tough time for people in all sorts of different industries and many individuals have been made redundant or simply unemployed due to the pandemic.
“We want to help and believe that offering people re-training in a new industry is a great way to get them back into the working world. Many unemployed people are eager to start work again and we’re looking for anyone who might be interested in re-training for a career in the care industry to get in touch.
“Working in care is an extremely rewarding job and people will have the chance to receive free full training, which includes a company induction, dementia awareness, enablement, first aid, health and safety, food safety, infection control, medication, person centred care and moving and handling service users, and for anyone who is committed and passionate about care, we also offer the opportunity to undertake qualifications too."
