Posties to take part in town's Christmas song

11/11/2020 @ 06:56
Newtown's posties are already well-known for their charity fundraising during the last lockdown, and now they're supporting the town's Christmas celebrations.

Postal workers at the Newtown mail office have agreed to take part in the town's Community Song event which will be part of the Christmas lights celebrations.

Local people and organisations are wanted to perform part of the song as part of a video that will be broadcast on a special Christmas lights channel as part of the wider virtual celebrations before the lights are switched on later this month.

"A huge thank you to all of them for being great sports and supporting the song which will be a part of Newtown Lights Online Switch on event taking place on Saturday, 28th November," said Karen Barclay of Newtown Town Council.

"The online live event taking place on Saturday, 28th November will also have a host of local entertainers performing and keeping us entertained throughout the evening, these will be filmed from various locations and not the town centre to adhere to guidelines and ensure the safety of all involved with the night."

If you would like to send a message of hope to your community and take part, Celf Your Health will cut together all photos and footage they receive against the backing track of this little light of mine recorded by Newtown Silver Band.
