Pupils come up with names for new school

Names for a new primary school in Newtown have been put out to public consultation.

Hafren Junior School and Ladywell Green Infants School will merge in 12 months and eventually a new school building will be constructed.

Pupils and staff have come up with suggested names for the combined school and are asking the public to vote.

The names are Ysgol y Dderwen, Ysgol Calon y Ddrwen, and Ysgol Elan Yr Afon.
