New councillor to be co-opted on to town council

Candidates hoping to be co-opted on to Newtown Town Council will address councillors at their full meeting on Monday evening.

The council is having to co-opt a member to the Central Ward after it failed to attract enough nominations for an election.

It is understood at least one candidate will address the council when councillors will vote on whether to co-opt them.
