Electric charging points for local supermarket store

Tesco is to install three electric chargers at its Newtown store.

The shopping retailer has submitted a planning application to Powys County Council for fast and rapid electric vehicle chargers.

Newtown Town Council's Economy and Planning Committee supported the application at its meeting last night.

The application will now be considered by Powys County Council planners later this month.

The county council is due to install its own electric vehicle chargers in the Back Lane car park.

The council is hoping to get additional funding to install the chargers that were announced as part of a county-wide project.
