Warning over illegal raves in the area

28/08/2020 @ 08:33
Residents around Newtown and north Powys are being urged to report any suspicious activity amid concern some illegal raves could be planned over the Bank Holiday weekend.

It comes as the Welsh Government has given Dyfed Powys Police and other police forces powers to fine the organisers of illegal raves up to £10,000.

Police issued a warning earlier this month that they believed illegal raves could take place in rural areas, such as woodlands, over the summer period.

People are not supposed to gather in groups of more than 30 in Wales outdoors or with people outside their households or extended households indoors.

The changes in regulations come into force today.
