"There is now access to multiple sports and now we are looking for more volunteers to help run activities. The Corona Virus has held back the opening, but we have done it in line with legislation. We are all volunteers and if a project is going to be successful it needs new committee members; we can’t thank the National Lottery enough." The facility has been opened at Treowen following a £99,360 grant from the National Lottery Fund.
A low-key opening has taken place, although officials hope to have a formal event for the facility when a naming competition will also be held.
Work began earlier in the year but due to Covid-19 regulations the work had to stop for several months.
Chair of the facility committee, Regina Buckley-Robins, thanked the National Lottery Community Fund and National Lottery players for funding the MUGA and the committee for their hard work, stating: :"hat without the funding, we would not have this great resource for the community."
Powys County Councillor Joy Jones also joined the proceedings. She said: "It gives me great pleasure to be here today, what hard work that has gone into this has been amazing! and I would like to thank everybody who has put the time and effort.

It was a big eye sore prior to this and did spoilt the estate for the children to play, it was quite dangerous, but thank fully the hall committee has been so committed to take this forward.
"This is going to be absolutely wonderful for the estate it will be a great bonus and hope that young people come along and are able to enjoy it, so I am thrilled to see this coming to an opening now and I really do feel it thank you.

Cheryl Jarman, secretary, who worked on the sub committee to write the National Lottery bid, added: "Seeing the children reaction to the MUGA is priceless and worth all the hard work. We have a fit for purpose 21st century resource which fulfils one of the outcomes of the grant.
