Newtown's Textile Museum will re-open its doors on 11 August.

The museum in Commercial Street will open for two days a week on Tuesdays and Fridays between 12noon and 4pm.

"All the requirements to ensure the safety of visitors and hosts will be in place," said the Mayor of Newtown, Cllr David Selby, who is also on the museum's committee.

"In addition to the known and loved parts of the Museum there is a new exhibition on an aspect of Newtown’s sporting history – the story of The Warehouse Eleven: the team that went to war.

"The number of people in the Museum at any one time will to be limited, to allow social distancing, and there will be an appointment system for those wanting to ensure their place."

He added: "People can come without booking too but may need to wait if there are pre-booked groups or individuals already in the museum."
