Extended households can be formed

Two households will now be able to form an "extended household" from next Monday, the First Minister has announced.

It will mean many families can now meet and socialise.

However, once the extended household is established it cannot be changed, said Mark Drakeford MS.

Families will be asked to keep a record of their extended family so they can be traced should anyone have coronavirus sumptoms.

"Grandparents will be able to see their grandchildren again," he said. "It will help support many working parents with informal childcare over the summer months and will also help those who are caring for others."

It comes as schools in Newtown and throughout Wales re-opened today.
