Brace yourselves for heavy rain and storms

Residents in Newtown are being urged to brace themselves for flash flooding as a yellow weather warning is issued for the area.

Montgomeryshire is one of the areas expected to be hit by heavy rain and thunder this afternoon and overnight.

The Met Office has said the amount of water could cause flash flooding and disruption.

It comes as several residents have raised concern on social media about some drains in the town being blocked on roadsides.

The weather warning is in place from 12noon on Friday until 9am on Saturday.
