Rent deferral offered to council business tenants

Local businesses renting Powys County Council owned commercial premises are to be offered a three month rent deferral.

The council said the offer was being made due to the ongoing Coronavirus situation and any rent deferred would have to be re-paid.

Existing occupiers of estate properties can apply for rent deferral to cover rent due at any point after 23rd March 2020 until the end of the government mandated lockdown in Wales for up to three months.
 
A statement said: "Applications will be based on an assessment of the evidence supplied, which must demonstrate unavoidable financial impacts of lockdown on the business, and the shortfall of other forms of financial assistance available in meeting the immediate needs of the business to remain solvent."
