A 12-year-old Kerry girl is raising money for the NHS by running nearly three miles a day for 83 days - the number of hospitals there are in Wales.
Megan Jenkins wanted a challenge whilst in lockdown and the idea of raising money made her consider a run.
"Meg had seen the news, stories and reports of all the amazing and tireless people who are doing so much across the NHS in this pandemic and she decided see would like to challenge herself and try and raise money at the same time," said her mum, Kathy.
"She decided to set herself an ambitious challenge before she turns 13 in July."
Megan said: "I’ve never been able to run and never enjoyed it when I had to. So, I thought this would be a good challenge for me."
She found that there were 83 hospitals in Wales.
Megan then decided to run for 83 consecutive days, one day for every hospital in Wales.
That's three months or 12 weeks of running every day and trying to raise money for the NHS charities.
Meg started running on 1 May and she will finish at the end of July, days before her 13th birthday.
Meg runs mostly around the Kerry area, clocking up between 2.5 miles to over three miles a day, often with her dog Betsy.
"Its been an emotional few weeks of ups and downs, some hot hard runs and some wet runs, but also enjoyable runs too," said her mum Kathy.
"Every day is different but she knew the challenge wasn't going to be easy and knows every footstep is helping raise vital money for all those in the NHS."
She will be on day 42 day today - halfway.
