Still no news on River Severn "diesel" spill

The source of a diesel or oil spill that was noticed in the River Severn in Newtown town centre has still not been revealed.

MyNewtown reported on Tuesday how a strong diesel smell and a film on the surface of the river was smelt and spotted by the public in the town centre.

It is understood the spill was running from an outlet close Park Lane and into the river.

Natural Resources Wales are understood to be investigating, although no information has been provided yet.

It is believed the pollution had been going on for several days.
