Newtown's schools to open on 29 June

Schools in Newtown and throughout Powys will open on 29 June.

The Welsh Government has announced schools in Wales will open partially from that date.

Newtown High School and local primary schools will open to all year groups, but only a third of pupils will be in them at any one time.

The summer term has also been extended to 27 July.

Education Minister Kirsty Williams said parents who do not send their children to school will not be fined.
