Railway warning to local people

29/05/2020 @ 10:33
Residents in the area who might start heading on walks as part of their exercise are being warned to be careful if crossing the Cambrian Railway.

Transport for Wales and British Transport Police have said increased traffic is expected along rail lines throughout Wales over the coming weeks following reduced services.

But with the fine weather expected this weekend, they have urged people to be more vigilant when crossing tracks at crossings and pedestrian crossing along the line in the area.

Inspector Beata Evans of BTP, said: "Each year, hundreds of people take risks on and around the railway, resulting in tragic consequences and life-changing injuries.

“We are continuing to proactively patrol the railway network across Wales. Safety is our number one priority and we’re reminding everyone of the importance of taking care around the railway and that everyone loses when you step on the track.”
