A journey into astronomy

12/03/2020 @ 07:22

A personal talk on her journey into astronomy will be part of the next meeting of Newtown Astronomy Society by Tracey Snelus.

Tracey Snelus FRAS will talk at the meeting on Saturday, 14 March at The Crypt in Newtown Catholic Church at 7pm.

“My amateur astronomy interests are mostly centred around astrophotography, however I do enjoy evenings of visual observations and astronomical sketching of the moon," said Tracey.

"I enjoy learning about space weather and radio astronomy and keeping my astronomy journal up to date with my snippets of clear sky adventures.

"I am Chair of the North Wales Astronomy society, a Fellow of the Royal Astronomical Society and I am often found in the local area promoting astronomy through outreach or tinkering with scopes."

The society holds 10 meetings a year and its membership is £20 per year or £3.50 for visitors per meeting.

Tony Cook will provide his regular "sky update" and member's will provide their own visual and photographic updates of the sky.
