Heavy rain and high winds batter the area again

More heavy rain is causing flooding and travel disruption in the area as an Amber weather alert continues.

Several roads have become flooded and the A483 between Newtown and Welshpool was closed for a time.

Motorists are being urged to only travel if necessary as the River Severn continued to rise and burst its banks.

Areas around Caersws have already been affected again after the previous two storms to hit the area.

More water will move from the Upper Severn off the hills into the river over the coming hours, meaning river levels will continue to rise.
