High speed pursuit ends in arrest

Police have arrested a 34-year-old motorist after a high speed pursuit through Newtown.

The driver was arrested for dangerous driving and a drug swipe for cannabis after failing to stop for police yesterday afternoon.

The driver was being held in custody and questioned at Newtown Police Station following the incident.
