Don't travel unless essential - warning

Storm Dennis will strike the area this weekend with heavy rain and high winds already affecting Newtown.

Emergency services are urging people not to travel unless essential, with weather forecasters warning the situation could be worse than last weekend's Storm Ciara.

Network Rail and Transport for Wales have already warned of possible disruption to train services on the Cambrian Railway.

The line was badly hit by the weather last weekend with services from Machynlleth to Aberystwyth and Pwllheli having to be moved to buses.

Water levels are already high on the River Severn and parts of the Severn Valley flood plain are still submerged.
