Powys County Council highways staff in Montgomeryshire have been praised for their work during and after Storm Ciara.

Workers helped to clear trees and debris to ensure roads were re-opened, as well as damaged properties.
Cabinet Member for Highways and Waste Management Councillor Heulwen Hulme praised staff for the hard work protecting properties, business and road users after high winds and torrential rain lashed the county.
“Once again our staff were called into action to deal with severe weather after Storm Ciara battered the county leaving a trail of damage and flooding. Crews were in action right across Powys dealing with fallen trees, flooded roads and damage to properties.
“Once again the response four our staff was outstanding. A huge thanks to them all, it was a fantastic effort.”
