A number of Newtown residents have reported parcels delivered to their doors going missing, along with other items over the past few days.
With Christmas parcel deliveries at their peak, many are left in "safe places" which are often porches and other areas around properties.
But on Facebook this weekend several residents have warned of parcels going missing, as well as being delivered to unknown addresses.
In one case two pairs of children's trainers were taken from outside the front door of a house where they had had been left by the child.
Police have said anyone having parcels delivered should try and have them sent to a neighbour or address where somebody can receive them.
In some cases, special lock-ups can be used where they can be collected 24 hours.
