Newtown women presented with top carer awards

Two Newtown care workers have been presented with top awards for her work in the care sector.
 
Tracey Woodward, Affinity Homecare’s Registered Manager, based in Newtown, has been awarded the ‘Home Care Registered Manager’ accolade at the Great British Care Awards (Wales) and Deputy Manager  Hayley Foy, has also been awarded the Care Worker of the year Award (Wales).
 
The awards evening was held at the Park Plaza Hotel in Cardiff last weelwith 23 different categories, all recognising those carrying out excellence within the care sector. 
 
Tracey, a registered manager, said: “I feel completely overwhelmed. It was a shock to be shortlisted but to win the award is a true honour”. Hayley Foy added, “I’m very proud to of been nominated very honoured to be now representing Wales in March 2020 in Birmingham for the National Awards.”
 
Both, Tracey and Hayley gave praise to the amazing care team for their hard work because it wouldn’t have been possible without them: “They’re all brilliant carers and this award is for each and every one of them.”
 
Paul Bradley of the company, said: “I’m so proud of Tracey and Hayley they are a fantastic asset to Affinity and the Powys community and thoroughly deserve the recognition. They have worked incredibly hard over the years and been able to build a supported workforce that are able to genuinely add value to the residents of Powys.”
