Lottery funding could help improve Newtown's rights of way

Newtown Town Council is likely to enter into an agreement with Powys County Council to manage public rights of way in the town.

It comes as several county council services, such as public toilets and land has bene transferred to the town council to deliver.

On Thursday the town council's strategy committee will consider the arrangement after it agreed to a business case.

It will also consider being involved in an application for Big Lottery Funding  to improve public access to the rights of way network in the area.
