Funding awareness event next week

A funding advice event aimed at community groups in Newtown and throughout Montgomeryshire to promote what opportunities are available will be held next week.

A number of funding bodies have been invited to make short presentations, and make themselves available for one-to-one meetings at the event at The Corn Exchange at Welshpool Town Hall on Friday, 8 November between 10am and 12pm.

Sport Wales, the Heritage Fund, the Arts Council for Wales, the National Lottery Community Fund, Community Foundation Wales and the Powys Association for Voluntary Organisations are among the organisations that will be attending the event.
 
Commenting in advance of the event, Mr George said: “I’m looking forward to hosting this funding advice day next week for community groups across Montgomeryshire to learn more about the funding options which are available to them.

“Some community and voluntary groups don’t realise what funding is available so this is a perfect opportunity to meet with a range of funders including Sport Wales, the Heritage Fund, the Arts Council for Wales, the National Lottery Community Fund, Community Foundation Wales and the Powys Association for Voluntary Organisations.
 
“The event is totally free, and is available for anyone to attend. The presentations will begin at 10am and there is no need to pre-register so please feel free to drop in for any funding advice which you require to support your group.”
