Road and rail chaos continues as floods continue

Large parts of north Powys remain flooded with roads closed and rail services cancelled.

Although the rain has stopped today, large amounts of water are still pouring from the hillsides and emergency services are dealing with numerous flooding incidents.

The Cambrian Railway between Welshpool and Shrewsbury is closed until Monday.

Areas around Caersws have been badly affected after the River Severn rose to high levels with several roads and lanes closed. The area between Berriew, Welshpool and towards Llanymynech is also flooded.

Police have urged people to only travel if they have to.
